Q: Can I bring additional family and friends?
A: Immediate family members and significant others are invited and included on the formal invite. Please contact us directly if you have a special request.
Q. Can I stay at a hotel other than Cabañas La Luna?
A: We have reserved the whole hotel for the wedding festivities and prefer our guests to stay at Cabañas La Luna.
Q: Can I stay longer at Cabañas La Luna?
A: Yes, you can stay as long as you would like. We are planning to arrive a day or two early, and will tour the rest of the Riviera after the wedding.
Q: Who is Xiao?
A: Xiao is Cindy’s given Chinese name. But you can call her Cindy. Or Mrs. Weldon.
Q: Can I use the US Dollar in Mexico? What’s the best way to get money?
A: 90% of the tourist locations accept US Dollar. Personally, I found that my credit card has a best exchange rate, even with the 1% international transaction fee. Another option is to withdraw Pesos from the ATM's. Last option is to exchange for Pesos in the States .
*Please remember to notify your banks about your trip so you can use your cards out of the country.*
Q: How is the drive from the airport to the Cabañas La Luna?
A: Awesome! There’s nothing like hitting the open road on the coast of Mexico. A quick, safe, and fun trip that is a straight shot from the airport. Your US license is recognized and renting a car (or motorcycle) is the same process as in the US. It’s mostly a four-lane road from the airport to the hotel. Your GPS & Google Navigation will work. There’s plenty of restaurants, supermarkets, and towns on the way if you want to stop for a taco.
Q: Do you recommend stopping anywhere to pick up supplies?
A: Yes, there are a couple supermarkets on the way. We suggest picking up water, snacks, or anything else you need. It's all pretty cheap in Mexico!
Q: Can you drink the water in Mexico?
A: No! Cindy has pushed the envelope (I call her “Risky Business”). We were very sick once upon a time in the Caribbean. Please use bottled water for drinking, brushing your teeth, washing or anything you plan to put in your mouth. Plan for one gallon of water per person for three days (on previous trips we bought a case of bottled water that made it easy).
Q: What should I wear to the wedding?
A: Beach casual. Think along the lines of sun dress, linen shirt, khakis pants and shorts.
Q: Is it safe?
A: Yes, the Riviera is very tourist friendly. Sure, there will be people looking to make a few extra bucks from unsuspecting tourists. Just say no and stick to your plans. Phil considers most of Philadelphia (including areas where he previously lived) to be less safe. You'll relax and have a blast, it's a resort / tourist area.
Q: What about all of the single ladies?
A: Our wedding was planned to be international to avoid the rioting domestic single female population. We anticipate with Phil's absence from the English speaking world for a few weeks that single women will go back to worshiping George Clooney and Brad Pitt.
Q: Will my cellphone work?
A: Yes, network charges may apply. There will also be wifi in the hotel.
Q: Do I need an outlet converter?
A: No, outlets in Mexico are the same as in the US.
Q: Any plans for the free day (5/24)?
A: The bride, groom party & friends are planning to spend the day at a waterpark. Everyone is free to join, or spend the day as they wish.
Q: Do I need a passport?
A: Yes. Please get your passport in advance. No visa needed for US passport.
